Official reference for information only. A single percentile is not a diagnosis — your pediatrician interprets weight together with height, head circumference and the trend over time.

Track your baby’s weight over time

What is a weight percentile?

A weight-for-age percentile shows how your baby’s weight compares to other babies of the same age and sex. The 50th percentile is the median; the 90th means the baby weighs more than 90% of peers. There is no “best” percentile — healthy babies grow along a wide range of curves. What matters most is a steady trend over time, which your pediatrician follows.

Frequently asked questions

Which growth chart should I use?

The WHO standards are the international reference for children under 5 and are recommended across Europe. The CDC charts are common in the United States, and the Orbegozo tables are a classic Spanish reference. You can switch between all three above.

Is a low or high percentile a problem?

Not by itself. A baby on the 10th or 90th percentile can be perfectly healthy. Pediatricians look at the whole picture — weight, length, head circumference and, above all, whether the baby follows their own curve over time.

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. This calculator is informational and based on official published references. Always consult your pediatrician with any concern about your baby’s growth.
